Pragmatic, hands-on and measured.
Every engagement is different. The way we work isn't. We learn the problem where it lives, narrow it to what matters, build it properly and leave your team able to run it.
Process
- 01
Understand
We sit with the people doing the work and learn how it really happens: the systems, the workarounds, the edge cases and the rules nobody wrote down.
You getA clear picture of the current state and where the time and risk really sit.
- 02
Narrow
We run short workshops and build a quick prototype, often on sample data, to test ideas cheaply. Then we propose the smallest slice that unlocks the most value, and agree how we'll measure success.
You getA focused scope, a baseline and a plan everyone has agreed to.
- 03
Build
We build to production grade from the first week: tested, secure, observable, and deployed through automated pipelines. Releases are small and frequent, so you see progress, not status reports.
You getWorking software in real environments, early.
- 04
Measure
We compare results with the baseline, evaluate AI output continuously, and use what we learn to decide what comes next.
You getEvidence, not assumptions.
- 05
Hand over
We document as we go, pair with your team, and hand over the code, infrastructure, runbooks and reusable tooling.
You getA team that can run and extend it without us.
Principles
- P.01
Start where the value is.
The first slice should unlock the rest. Scope grows once the foundations are proven.
- P.02
Production is the finish line.
A demo is a milestone, not a result.
- P.03
Measure, don't assume.
Agree the baseline first, then show what changed.
- P.04
People stay in control.
Automation refers uncertain cases to a person, with a readable reason and the right to override.
- P.05
Secure by design.
Security, privacy and compliance are designed in, not reviewed in at the end.
- P.06
Simple beats clever.
We choose the simplest thing that works, and the cheapest thing that's good enough.
- P.07
Leave it better.
Every engagement leaves reusable tools behind, and a team that's stronger than when we arrived.
- P.08
Say so early.
If something isn't working, or you don't need us, we'll tell you.
Engagement models
| Model | Best for | Typical length | Commercials |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery sprint | Framing a problem, testing options on a prototype, and producing a costed plan | 2 to 3 weeks | Fixed price |
| Forward deployed engagement | Loosely defined, high-value problems that need to reach production | 8 to 12 week phases, renewed on results | Time and materials or capped fee |
| Delivery project | A defined outcome with a clear scope | Scoped to the outcome | Fixed price with milestones, or time and materials |
| Advisory and coaching | Ongoing architecture, AI and engineering guidance | Ongoing, part-time | Monthly retainer |
| Resource augmentation | Adding experienced capacity to a team or program | Weeks to months | Time and materials |
| Managed infrastructure | Running and improving cloud environments | Ongoing | Monthly fee |

Working together
Security and confidentiality
We're happy to sign your NDA and to work within your security policies, identity systems and approved tools. Where possible, your data stays in your environment.
Intellectual property
By default, you own the work we create for you. Where we bring reusable tooling of our own, you get a licence to keep using it. The details are set out in each agreement.
How we use AI tools
We use AI coding and research tools to work faster, within your policies. We never put your confidential information into a tool you haven't approved.
Where we work
Based in Australia. We work remotely with clients worldwide, and on-site in Sydney or elsewhere in Australia by prior arrangement.
FAQ
Do you work with smaller organisations?
Yes. We work with scale-ups building their first platform as well as enterprises modernising core systems. The approach scales down as well as up.
Do you only work on AWS?
No. We work across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and we'll recommend what suits your context, including what you already have.
Can you work under our security and compliance requirements?
Yes. We regularly work inside regulated environments, with their access controls, change processes and approved tooling.
What does a first engagement usually look like?
Most start with a short discovery sprint at a fixed price. You leave with a clear plan and a working prototype, whether or not you continue with us.
Will you tell us if we don't need you?
Yes. Sometimes the best answer is a product you already own, configured well, or a smaller change than expected.
